Memberships Have Raised Over $1,000

I can still remember someone telling me with great conviction that membership would not work as a fundraiser.  I'm so glad we didn't listen.  We just recently passed $1,000 raised through membership fees.  We figure about 20 percent of that goes to the cost of the membership component (newsletters, postage, buttons, etc.).  That means we have about $800 right now to pay for SMB 2014--roughly half
of what we need to pay for the entire event/celebration.  We expect more members and so that amount will increase.  We'll also have revenue from the book and other sources.  There should be no problem making SMB happen this year!

On another note, I hiked the Butte on Saturday and noticed that Pilot Butte Partners got the hand sanitizer installed in the restroom on top.  Very cool and definitely worth celebrating.  The Butte just keeps getting better because of the ongoing efforts of so many groups and individuals.
